Meltdown is a four-part investigation into a world of greed and recklessness that brought down the financial world. The show begins with the 2008 crash that pushed 30 million people into unemployment, brought countries to the edge of insolvency and turned the clock back to 1929. But how did it all go so wrong? I received an email back in February, 2008. Attached was an anonymous power point explaining (what we thought at the time) was only the mortgage meltdown. This mortgage meltdown led to the current financial crisis. I have taken this power point (cleaned up some of the language) and added the music of Pink Floyd's Money. Stick figures work their way through the tangled web of the mortgage process. They start with the home buyer and go all the way to where we find ourselves today.
